Wichard Roller Blocks
These blocks extend the range of Wichard blocks. Originally designed to equip carbon masts for racing, these blocks have been developed with great care in order to ensure perfect resistance and reliability for demanding users. They are manufactured with top-quality components, assembled by hand and controlled at each step of manufacturing, which guarantees the integrity of the product. Their modular design permits the maintenance or eventual repair of a component without using special tools.
This new range of Wichard blocks are made up of high resistant cheeks and sheaves in anodized aluminum, stainless steel heads and polyester (PETP) or Torlon rollers. They are designed for modern ropes from 1/4" to 1 3/16" , which are much more resistant than traditional polyester.
In order to fulfill all these requirements, these Wichard blocks are designed with big-size sheaves which offer a better sweep radius and consequently an easier rotation than traditional designs.
These blocks have already been used in hard racing conditions: Vendee Globe, Route du Rhum, and already have a good reputation within the professional crowd.
30mm Sheaves for ropes from 6 to 10 mm in size (available in blocks numbered 1 & 2 below) have a working load of 144 kg, and a breaking load of 560 kg
40mm Sheaves for ropes from 8 to 10 mm in size (available in blocks numbered 1 to 5 below), have a working load of 320 kg, and a breaking load of over 720 kg
50mm Sheaves for ropes from 8 to 10 mm in size (available in blocks numbered 1 to 12 below), have a working load of 480 kg (640 kg for double blocks), and a breaking load of over 1200 kg.
65mm Sheaves for ropes from 8 to 12 mm in size (available in blocks numbered 1 to 16 below), have a working load of between 480 kg and 720 kg, and a breaking load of over 1400 kg.
80mm Sheaves for ropes from 8 to 12 mm in size (available in blocks numbered 1 to 7 below), have a working load of 720 to 1000 kg, and a breaking load of over 1600 kg.
