Seahawk Pty Ltd, the manufacturer of Autostream Propellers is a small family owned company specialising in a range of products for the leisure boating industry since 1981. Mr Julian Barrett, a retired motor engineer, racing car driver and yachtsman, designed and manufactured the first Autostream Propeller in 1973. This was a three-blade model of which only a few were produced.
The product range has evolved and improved over the years and now boasts a total of seven models. As demand for the feathering propellers has grown they have gradually swung towards concentrating on the sailing propeller market. They still retain a reconditioning and repair facility, which allows them to keep in touch with both their products and those of their competitors as they age, providing ideas for improvements and new designs.

The latest propeller in the Seahawk line up, first released as a a two-blade model July 2003, the Slipstream range of Geared Folding Sailboat Propellers. This range was designed using many years of collective experience to achieve three main goals:
1 - Outperform competing brands
2 - Provide a long service life, while being user serviceable without specialist skills.
3 - Develop an enhanced product at a comparable price

The Autostream self-feathering propeller has evolved through 8 models, over more than thirty years. Many experienced sailors tell us they consider the Autostream propeller to be the best propeller of its type available – a fact we are proud of. They offer excellent propulsion, control and low-drag. We know by the fact we sell very few parts, that the reliability and robustness is second to none. Self-feathering propellers are the propeller of choice for most cruising sailors. It is also ideal for those with difficult docking conditions, hard to handle sailboats or those that just like the reassurance of extra control – all with little drag whilst sailing.
