The Marine Fire 740 System (pictured above) is a pre-engineered, self-contained automatic and manual/automatic fire suppression system for spaces of up to 1,500 cubic feet (42.5 cubic metres). Manual-only options are also available. The fire extinguisher is operated manually by pulling the Manual Discharge Cable. Automatic operation is achieved by a thermally activated glass bulb which bursts at 79°C releasing the extinguishing agent from the cylinder.
The 740 Series contains Dupont FE-227 clean agent extinguishant and can put out a fire in under 10 seconds from discharge. The system can be combined with an Engine Shutdown System to automatically stop engine motors, ventilation/air extractors and close fire dampers.
