Many
yachts have been launched with ANDERSEN winches since the first winches
were supplied in the late fifties. During the years the production
techniques have been developed to a high degree. Most production
operations today are carried out by CNC controlled machinery. Advanced
technology and efficient quality control guarantee that the completed
winches will function for years without problems even if they are
subjected to high and constant loading. This is the reason why more
than 12.000 winches are distributed every year to the complete
satisfaction of enthusiastic yachtsmen in more than 30 countries all
over the world.

Self-Tailing Winches
ANDERSEN Self-Tailing Winches© extend the service life of your sheets and halyards and the winch itself, since the Power Rib and the smooth surface of the drum require fewer turns compared to other winches. In addition, the self-tailing device is designed to accommodate a number of different of sheet and halyard sizes - enabling the winch to serve many different purposes and providing you with a range of products to choose from, no matter what you sail. A special option for ANDERSEN Winches is a choice of having your own winch titanium-coated in bronze or brass, whichever matches your classic boat. This means that the surface of your ANDERSEN Winch will never show wear and tear.
Electric Winches
Managing your boat is a demanding task - sails represent a challenge. The challenge of managing them correctly, managing them yourself, and doing so in time basically amounts to managing the powers of nature. So why not empower yourself with this ability? ANDERSEN Electric Winches© are the right tools for the job. Representing a combination of safe sailing and convenient push-button technology, these winches are also designed to allow easy assembly and dismantling for service and maintenance. In addition, the motor is protected from overload by an amperage sensor installed to cut off power at a pre-set load. As a further precaution, all electric motors are fitted with thermal cutouts in case of overheating.
ANDERSEN Electric Winches are supplied complete with an installation manual, electronics box, switches, and cable terminals.
Compact Electric Winches
Andersen have added yet another uncompromising new motor product to their existing line of high-quality motors. The new ANDERSEN COMPACT Motor comes as a variable-speed or 2-speed unit in two versions: Below Deck, with smaller built-in dimensions than a standard motor, and Above Deck, which features the winch directly mounted onto the motor. This motor is a highly efficient unit with a high line speed and good traction. The unit is extremely well-suited for mounting and is compatible with the ANDERSEN Modular Power System
This motor demonstrates why ANDERSEN Products are in a class of their own. When they say COMPACT, they mean COMPACT - because the unit is a true unit. The motor, gears and power supply feature an all-in-one design. There are no extra control boxes and only 3 cables out of the unit, resulting in the smallest dimensions available in a motor. The unit itself consists of 2 compartments, with the motor compartment completely sealed and water-resistant, and the gear compartment specially adapted to meet service needs. The motor is built on a entirely new commutator principle using no carbon brushes, resulting in the virtual elimination of wear and tear. This new approach to motors also provides other advantages, including a power consumption 30-50% lower than that of a normal electric unit. The weight is reduced by approx. 50% of a standard electric unit. So for us, COMPACT means less weight, more power and a fully integrated design.

Single-speed or 2-speed winches - it is your choice when using an ANDERSEN Winch model 46ST and up.
